Toucan Rescue Ranch
A guided educational visit focused on rescue, rehabilitation, release and responsible wildlife conservation in San Isidro, Heredia.

From toucans to a multi-species rescue center
Toucan Rescue Ranch was founded in 2004 by Leslie Howle and Jorge Murillo, originally to rescue, rehabilitate and release Costa Rican toucans. In 2007, the arrival of Millie, a baby two-toed sloth, marked its expansion into a multi-species wildlife rescue facility.

The educational walk
Onsite guided walks introduce visitors to rescued wildlife and the stories behind rehabilitation and conservation. Depending on the animals in care, visitors may learn about toucans, sloths, owls, monkeys, felines and other native species. The experience is hands-off and reservations are required.
