CoopeDota — Dota Coffee Tour
In Santa María de Dota, coffee is not simply a crop; it is the economic and cultural backbone of the mountain community. CoopeDota brings together more than a thousand producer families from the Los Santos coffee region and works across the coffee value chain, from production and processing to roasting, commercialization and export.

From the mountain farm to the cup
The official CoopeDota coffee tour is designed to show visitors the complete process. The approximately two-hour experience includes a tractor ride through the farm, the history of coffee and the cooperative, the varieties cultivated in Dota, processing and quality classification, sustainable practices and a tasting of different roasts.

Why Dota coffee is exceptional
La Zona de Los Santos is one of Costa Rica’s flagship specialty-coffee origins. High elevations, cool mountain conditions, carefully managed farms and generations of producer knowledge help create coffees sought by specialty buyers and export markets. CoopeDota describes its coffee as 100% Costa Rican, produced by its associates in La Zona de Los Santos, and the cooperative works with quality, traceability, sustainability and innovation throughout the chain.
