Starbucks purchased Hacienda Alsacia in 2013. Today the 240-hectare property has more than 800,000 coffee trees and houses the Costa Rica Farmer Support Center and Starbucks Global Research and Development team.
Coffee, research and sustainability
Visitors can explore how coffee is cultivated and processed while learning about research into climate resilience, coffee rust, agronomy and farmer support. The farm connects the cup of coffee with the agricultural work behind it.
