Lankester Botanical Garden is a University of Costa Rica research center dedicated to conservation, horticulture and environmental education, with special emphasis on epiphytic plants and orchids.
Orchids and tropical flora
The garden cultivates more than 15,000 scientifically documented orchid specimens representing around 1,000 species, alongside bromeliads, heliconias, palms, cacti and other tropical plants.
Beyond the orchids
Visitors can explore broad garden paths and the Japanese Garden. Its Cartago location makes it especially convenient to combine with Irazú Volcano, Orosi Valley or other Cartago experiences.
